Dr. Kathy Frazar
Dentist and Owner of The Houston Dentists
Dr. Frazar, who transitioned from an ICU nurse to earning her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch, has been practicing dentistry in the Bellaire and West University area since 1989. Her impressive credentials include graduating from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, earning fellowships at The Academy of General Dentistry and The Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, and holding memberships in multiple prestigious dental associations. She has also completed over 6,000 smile makeovers and gained recognition for her work on television and with special cases like Carolyn Thomas.
Beyond her professional achievements, which include becoming SMART certified for safe amalgam removal and completing an implant residency through TexMax, Dr. Frazar is committed to giving back to the community through programs like Smiles for Life and mentoring fellow dentists. When not practicing dentistry, she enjoys an active lifestyle with her daughter Taylor, engaging in activities such as pickleball, exercise, travel, and spending weekends in Round Top.
Dr. Coury Zachary
Dentist
Dr. Coury joined The Houston Dentists in the summer of 2022 after moving to Texas in 2020 from Mississippi. She came to us with a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Mississippi and received her DMD from their School of Dentistry. She has continued her dental education with Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency and an Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Internship.
Dr. Coury knew she wanted to be a dentist since she was 7 years old and played with a crocodile dentist toy at her grandparents’ home. She believes a smile is empowering and she enjoys helping patients feel confident, healthy, and happy while also improving function.
When not working, Dr. Coury enjoys being active through tennis, volleyball, and golf. She’s involved in the community and also spends time with photography, traveling, and family and friends.
Dr. Moayad Mardini, DDS, MDS
Periodontist
Dr. Mardini joined The Houston Dentists in the summer of 2023. Dr. Mardini comes to us from the northeastern part of the U.S. After starting his dental career in 2009, Dr. Mardini specialized in periodontics which focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating gum disease. He completed a three-year residency training program in periodontics and implant surgery at the University of Connecticut. This training helped him gain extensive experience in performing minimally invasive techniques with dental implants and periodontal plastic surgery for optimal outcomes in esthetics and function. Dr. Mardini also has a master of dental science from the University of Connecticut so he may better understand the progression of periodontal disease. At UConn John Dempsey Hospital, Dr. Mardini became proficient in administering parenteral anesthesia.
Growing up in a family of physicians and dentists, patient care has always been of importance to Dr. Mardini. He stated, “I really enjoy the mix of science and surgical hand skills that dentistry offers.”
When not working, Dr. Mardini spends time with Lena, his wife as well as enjoying the great outdoors by hiking in national parks, kayaking, and playing tennis.

The Invisalign Treatment Process
Consultation & Exam
During your first visit, your doctor will take a look at your bite and smile to determine if Invisalign is the right option for you. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about your smile, Invisalign, or other treatment options.
Aligner Pick Up
Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Invisalign trays fit perfectly. When your aligners arrive at our office, you’ll come and pick them up to begin your treatment.
Check-ins
Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Every six weeks or so, you’ll come back to our office to pick up your next few sets of aligners. Every treatment plan is different, so this amount of time may vary based on your needs. These check-ins are essential to ensure your treatment is on track and that your Invisalign trays are fitting properly.

Dr. Blalock grew up on a beef cattle farm in Crossville, TN. The time he spent working on the farm taught Dr. Blalock valuable problem-solving skills and a good work ethic. After Dr. Blalock suffered a dental injury when a cow’s hoof contacted his teeth, his dentist repaired his smile and sparked a fascination for the art of dentistry. Because of that experience, Dr. Blalock realized his calling was to become a dentist. He loves that dental work gives him the ability to work creatively with his hands while interacting with patients and making a positive impact on their lives.
Dr. Blalock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech University with an undergraduate degree in health science biology. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry
