Meet the Doctors
Dr. Kathy Frazar
Dr. Frazar is passionate about changing the lives of her patients, not just their smiles. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston and afterward began her practice in the Bellaire and West University area in 1989. Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Frazar earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas and went on to practice as an ICU nurse. During this time she performed research prior to attending dental school.
Dr. Frazar is dedicated to providing her patients with the best care that cosmetic and restorative dentistry has to offer. She has attained the prestigious level of LVI graduate in the cosmetics curriculum at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, which is one of the highest honors that can be achieved in the field. Her dedication to pursuing the latest developments and technology in dentistry has earned her a Fellowship at The Academy of General Dentistry and The Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics. She is a member of The American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, The Greater Houston Dental Society, and serves on the Advisory Board for Smile Source, an independent practice management group. Additionally, she has lectured at numerous seminars and is a mentor to countless dentists across the country. She recently finished writing her first text textbook.
Dr. Frazar has performed smile makeovers on the Deborah Duncan Show and for battered women in the Smiles for Life program. Dr. Frazar has been in the news for finishing the dental treatment on Carolyn Thomas who was the faceless woman featured on the Discovery Health Channel. On top of that, she has completed over 6,000 smile makeovers!
She has completed a year-long implant residency course through TexMax. Dr. Frazar is a member of IAMOT, The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, and is one of 400 dentists who have become SMART certified to safely remove amalgam fillings.
Dr. Coury Zachary
Dr. Coury joined The Houston Dentists in the summer of 2022 after moving to Texas in 2020 from Mississippi. She came to us with a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Mississippi and received her DMD from their School of Dentistry. She has continued her dental education with Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency and an Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Internship.
Dr. Coury knew she wanted to be a dentist since she was 7 years old and played with a crocodile dentist toy at her grandparents’ home. In order to give patients the highest level of care, she is currently completing LVI training to advance her cosmetic dentistry skills. Dr. Coury believes a smile is empowering and she enjoys helping patients feel confident, healthy, and happy while also improving function.
When not working, Dr. Coury enjoys being active through tennis, volleyball, and golf. She’s involved in the community and also spends time with photography, traveling, and family and friends.
Dr. Moayad Mardini, MDS
Dr. Mardini joined The Houston Dentists in the summer of 2023. Dr. Mardini comes to us from the northeastern part of the U.S. After starting his dental career in 2009, Dr. Mardini specialized in periodontics which focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating gum disease. He completed a three-year residency training program in periodontics and implant surgery at the University of Connecticut. This training helped him gain extensive experience in performing minimally invasive techniques with dental implants and periodontal plastic surgery for optimal outcomes in esthetics and function. Dr. Mardini also has a master of dental science from the University of Connecticut so he may better understand the progression of periodontal disease. At UConn John Dempsey Hospital, Dr. Mardini became proficient in administering parenteral anesthesia.
Growing up in a family of physicians and dentists, patient care has always been of importance to Dr. Mardini. He stated, “I really enjoy the mix of science and surgical hand skills that dentistry offers."
When not working, Dr. Mardini spends time with Lena, his wife as well as enjoying the great outdoors by hiking in national parks, kayaking, and playing tennis.

The Veneers Treatment Process

Consultation and Planning
Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation. We'll discuss your goals, examine your teeth, and create a personalized treatment plan. We may take impressions or digital scans of your teeth to help design your custom veneers.

Preparation
If necessary, we'll prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel to accommodate the veneers. For some ultra-thin veneers, minimal or no preparation may be needed. We'll ensure your comfort throughout this process.
03
Fabrication
Your custom veneers are crafted based on the specifications we've provided. For porcelain veneers, this is done in a dental laboratory. Composite veneers can often be created and applied in the same visit.
04
Bonding
Once your veneers are ready, we'll check the fit, shape, and color to ensure they're perfect. We then permanently bond the veneers to your teeth using a special dental cement and light beam, resulting in a beautiful, natural-looking smile.
